Melanie Ward-Webber
Optical Dispenser
Melanie joined the team in 2017 with over thirty years of experience. Melanie is passionate about dispensing and providing personalised advice for each of our patients. She is qualified in optical fitting and surfacing, gaining a Diploma in Optical Dispensing in 1994. She’s well-known for her knack at finding just the right frame for every face.
How did you start in optics?
Optics fitted my desire to help people but also had a technical aspect to it that appealed to me as well.

The Sound of Music
What sporting teams do you support?
Any team my children play in
What is something you might not know about me?
I built and opened the first outback Western Australian OPSM branch in 1995 in Port Hedland to service the local communities and meet the industrial safety eyewear needs of miners.
What is your bucket list travel destination?
Norway to see the Northern Lights or Antarctica
Do you have any pets?
Our fur babies are Samwise a Border Collie Cross and Rocky a Maltese Shih Tzu
What song would you go to queue?
I don’t listen to music – I listen to lot’s of audio books instead, I love a good story!
With the recent social isolation measures, what have been your common “iso” activities?
Walking the local hills close to home.
